Description
These Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Wings are my absolute favorite chicken wing recipe! They crisp up with no oil required and the air fryer does all the work. Make these for a Game Day Appetizer or pair them with pizza on Friday night!
Ingredients
Scale
- package of 10 chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon of ranch seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup parmigiano reggiano or any kind of parmesan block cheese, shredded finely + additional 1/8 cup for topping
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- Optional: 1 tablespoon finely minced fresh parsley
Instructions
- In a large bowl, add in the wings. Sprinkle in ranch seasoning and salt and pepper. Toss to coat the wings.
- Preheat the air fryer at 400 degrees or on the wing setting. Add the wings in an even layer and air fry for 25 minutes, flipping half way through.
- While the wings are cooking, melt the butter in a skillet over medium low heat. Add in the garlic and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently. Do not brown the garlic and the butter. Transfer to a large bowl and allow it to cool for 5 minutes.
- Once the garlic butter has cooled down, add in the mayonnaise and parmesan cheese and stir well to combine. It will look thick and that's ok. Once we add the hot wings, the sauce will melt.
- Add the crispy hot wings right into the garlic sauce as soon as they come out of the air fryer.
- Toss the wings into the sauce until it melts and coats the wings. Top with fresh parsley and more parmesan, if desired.
- Serve and enjoy! These wings don't really need a sauce, but Ranch or Blue Cheese would pair well.
Notes
- Allow the air fryer to preheat before adding in the wings.
- Mince up the garlic really fine for this recipe and when cooking in the butter, we are looking to just soften it over medium low heat, no browning.
- Pull the garlic butter from the stove and immediately transfer to a bowl to cool. This will help the butter and garlic from burning and creating a bitter flavor.
