Description

These Strawberry Lime Margaritas taste like they were sent from heaven, especially on a hot day. They are the perfect frozen drink for Spring, Summer, any Taco Tuesday and Cinco de Mayo.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces frozen strawberries
  • 2 ounces simple syrup (homemade or store bought 1 to 1 ratio of sugar to water)
  • juice from 2 limes
  • 1 ounce grand marnier
  • 3 ounces tequila
  • 1 cup ice
  • Optional for Salt around rim- juice from 1 lime and 3 tablespoons salt

Instructions

  1. For Salt around the rim of glass: Begin by squeezing the juice from 1 lime onto a plate and placing a few tablespoons of table salt or margarita salt onto another plate. Dip the rim of the glass into the lime juice then roll it into the salt.
  2. Making the Margarita: Into a blender, add in frozen strawberries, the juice from two limes, simple syrup, grand marnier, tequila and ice. Blend until no chunks of strawberry or ice remain.
  3. Pour into margarita glasses being careful not to touch the salty rim. Top with a lime wedge and enjoy!

Notes

  • Serve right away before they start to melt.
  • Use a high powered blender for the smoothest texture.
  • I highly recommend using frozen strawberries. If you want to use fresh strawberries, stick them in the freezer for at least an hour before adding to the blender. If they're not quite frozen you may need a bit more ice.
