Description

This Italian Sausage in Air Fryer is the fastest and easiest way to cook sausage. They come out crispy and delicious and go great on a bun or skip the carbs and wrap them in lettuce. YUM!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of Italian Sausage (4 to 5 sausages), mild or spicy
  • 1 bell pepper, any color, cut into slices
  • 1/2 a yellow onion, cut into slices
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Optional: brioche hot dog buns or hoagie rolls for the sausage

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating the air fryer to 350 degrees.
  2. Once preheated, add in the peppers and onion. Sprinkle with salt and onion powder and give them a quick toss.
  3. Place the Italian Sausages over the top of the peppers and onions. Air fry for 13 minutes.
  4. Flip half way through.
  5. Check sausage internal temperature being extremely careful when you poke through the skin. ***Hot juices can shoot out. ***If temperature does not read 165 degrees, continue to cook in 2 minutes increments until it does. The sausages I cooked were very large and took 18 minutes total.
  6. Once they are cooked, allow them to cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Top with peppers and onions and your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Notes

Be very careful when poking the sausage with a thermometer as hot juice will shoot out* You need an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
