Description

These Crispy Feta Fried Eggs are absolutely delicious. I put my own spin on these Tiktok Viral Feta Eggs, and they came out full of flavor. Best thing, they take less than 10 minutes to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup original feta cheese crumbles
  • 2 eggs, be careful not to break yolks
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon roma tomato, seeds removed and diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon jalapeno, seeds and membranes removed and minced
  • 1 teaspoon green onion, minced

Instructions

  1. Place a nonstick skillet on the stovetop over medium heat. Sprinkle the feta in a ring like shape, leaving a hole in the center for the fried eggs. Allow them to melt for about 2 minutes. If they start to burn, turn down the heat.
  2. Pour the eggs into the center of the ring. The feta should act like a barrier and keep the egg mostly inside. Sprinkle the salt and red pepper flakes over the top.
  3. Reduce the stovetop heat to low. Pour the olive oil around the outside circle of the eggs. Move the pan in a circular motion, so the oil gets under the edges of the feta and egg. Cover and cook for a few minutes on low heat, until the egg whites are fully cooked.
  4. Top the eggs with tomato, green onion and jalapeño. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • I highly recommend using a non-stick pan for this recipe.
  • Crumble the feta with your fingers or a fork into similar size pieces, so it melts more evenly.
  • Getting the heat right can be tricky. Watch that the feta isn't burning, and if it starts to, decrease the heat to low.
  • Crack the eggs ahead before adding the feta to the pan, so you don't have to rush and be careful not to break open the yolks when cracking.
