Description
These Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges are the perfect side dish or make them for a quick snack. They only take 5 minutes to prep, then let the air fryer do its magic!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 small sweet potatoes or 1 large
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 3/4 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
- 3/4 teaspoon salt + more to taste
Instructions
- Wash and dry the sweet potatoes. Remove any sprouts, roots, and slice about 1/2 inch of each end of the potatoes. Slice each potato into chunky 1 inch thick wedges. For the really lengthy pieces, slice the width in half to create two shorter wedges.
- Add the wedges into a bowl and pour in olive oil, spices and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Toss to combine. Note: Using your hands is the most efficient way to spread the oil and spices.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees and set time for 20 minutes, or choose the French fries setting and increase time to 20 minutes.
- Add the seasoned potato wedges into the air fryer for 20 minutes, giving them a good shake half way through cooking.
- Season the fries with another 1/4 teaspoon of salt and shake. Transfer the fries to a serving dish and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce (mine is honey mustard).
Notes
- Make sure to really coat the sweet potatoes entirely in olive oil for a better roast and crispy texture.
- I don't recommend more than 2 sweet potatoes at a time in the air fryer or they will get soggy. For a crispier result, cook 1 sweet potato at a time in the air fryer. This allow them to spread out better.
