Description

This Pizza Dip Recipe is high protein and uses cottage cheese as the base. It's delicious, so easy to make and tastes just like pizza! Plus, it's only a few ingredients and ready in under 25 minutes. A must make for Game Day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounce 4% fat Cottage Cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or granulated garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 4 ounces of mozzarella cheese, shredded from the block (about 1 cup shredded)
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated from the block
  • 10-15 pepperonis
  • 6 leaves of fresh basil, cut into strips (a chiffonade)
  • For dipping: 4 ounce Bruschetini and 7 ounce Stonefire Naan Dippers

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Into the food processor, add in the cottage cheese and spices.
  2. Blend on high, then pulse a few times until smooth.
  3. To assemble the pizza dip, spread the cottage cheese mixture into the bottom of a pie plate. Top with the pizza sauce. Next, top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Lastly, add on the pepperoni. Place the pie plate onto a cookie sheet (to avoid spills) and bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are nice and crispy.
  4. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving. Top with basil. Serve with Bruschettini crackers and naan dippers and enjoy! *I like to set a spoon next to the dish too, because sometimes it's better to scoop onto the naan bread.

Notes

  • Shred the cheeses from a block for the best melt. The pre-shredded cheese has anti-caking agents in it that doesn't melt well.
  • Be super careful when removing the pizza dip from the oven. It's very easy to spill out of the pie plate (basically hot lava at the end of cooking), which is why I recommend sitting it on a cookie sheet to bake.
