Description

Want your house to smell like Christmas? It's easier than you think with this Christmas Simmer Pot recipe. With only a few ingredients, you'll have the house smelling way better than any candle could and it's healthier too!

Ingredients

Scale

For fragrance only, NOT eating

  • 1 fresh orange
  • 4 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • About 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 and 1/2 cups apple cider
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Prepare a pot or Dutch Oven. Slice some pieces of the peel off the orange and add it into the pot, along with the cranberries, rosemary, and cinnamon sticks. Slice the remaining oranges and add in. Pour in apple cider and water and stir.
  2. Place the pot on low heat on the stovetop. Cook for a few hours, or up to 2 days, making sure to turn the stove off if you leave the house or while you're sleeping.
  3. Get ready for some incredibly cozy smells. I love making this when we decorate for Christmas, on holiday parties, and all day on Christmas.

Notes

  • If you peel some of the skin off the orange, it's even more fragrant in the pot.
  • Want to use it for two days? Turn the burner off at night and re-start it in the morning.
  • Hosting? Start it a few hours before company gets there to get things smelling really good!
