Description

This Halloween Snack Mix is so delicious and addictive. It's a blend of sweet and salty Chex mix and uses candy corn and Reeces Pieces to add in the Halloween colors. Watch the entire bowl disappear in minutes at a Halloween Party!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 cups rice chex cereal
  • 3 ounce package of bugles
  • 2 cups mini pretzels
  • 1 stick salted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, light
  • 1 cup of Autumn mix candy corn (this has the pumpkins and candy corn)
  • 4 ounce package of Reese's Pieces
  • 1/2 cup Heath Toffee Bits (in the baking isle near chocolate chips)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Into a large bowl, combine the rice chex cereal, bugles and pretzels. Toss to combine and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium low heat. You can also use a microwave to melt it. Turn off the heat and stir in the brown sugar. Pour it into a bowl and whisk it, but work quickly because it still needs to be hot.
  4. Pour the mixture over the chex mix and toss really well to combine.
  5. Spread the chex mix out on a full sized cookie sheet and toss again to make sure the sauce has covered most of the mix.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Once removed from the oven, allow it to cool for 20 to 30 minutes.
  8. Pour in the Heath bits, candy corn, and Reese's pieces.
  9. Give it a good toss and it's ready to serve!

Notes

  • Make sure the butter and brown sugar mixture is really hot still when adding to the Chex mix and toss it again and again to cover it well. It's okay if it's chunky, but it needs to be very hot.
  • Don't skip on the cooling time or it will melt the candy.
