Description

This Strawberry Ricotta Toast is the most delicious 5 minute breakfast. This is the best recipe for those Spring Strawberries!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 to 7 fresh strawberries, washed, dried and cut into slices
  • 4 basil leaves, cut into thin strips (chiffonade)
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 2 slices of toast, french bread preferred
  • 1 teaspoon store-bought balsamic glaze

Instructions

  1. Cut the strawberries into thin slices. Chiffonade the basil by rolling it up and cutting it into thin slices.
  2. Into a small bowl, stir together the honey and ricotta cheese. Set aside.
  3. Toast the bread until crispy and golden brown. Spread the ricotta mixture over the slices.
  4. Top with sliced strawberries, then fresh basil.
  5. Right before serving, drizzle on the balsamic glaze and enjoy!

Notes

When making the recipe, don't add the balsamic glaze until right before eating. It likes to blend into the ricotta mixture and looks ugly.

This recipe tastes best on well toasted bread, not burnt, but nice and toasted.
