Description

This Hot Honey Recipe is spicy, sweet and delicious. It only takes 4 ingredients and about 10 minutes to make this homemade spicy honey recipe, which goes perfectly on pizza, chicken, vegetables and more!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup clover or wildflower honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon dried red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon original hot sauce (Franks, Texas Pete or Cholula)

Instructions

  1. Add the honey, apple cider vinegar, red pepper flakes and hot sauce into a medium saucepan over medium low heat. Bring to a low boil for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring every few minutes. Remove from the heat and allow it to cool at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Strain the honey through a fine mesh strainer to remove all of the pepper flakes.
  3. Store in a sealed container or jar and drizzle over your favorite recipes.

Notes

If the honey starts to rapidly boil, turn down the heat.

Because the honey is so thick, you may need to take a spoon and push down on the red pepper flakes in the fine mesh strainer to push all the honey through.

The longer you allow the honey mixture to infuse at room temperature, the spicier it will get.
