Frequently Asked Questions About The Recipe:
Tzatziki is one of my favorite sauces/dips. It's made up of greek yogurt, garlic, lemon cucumber, dill, & olive oil. It's so easy to make and tastes delicious!
Yes, Tzatziki sauce is healthy. It's high in protein from the greek yogurt and olive oil has anti-inflammatory properties. You probably wouldn't want to eat the entire batch, but just as a sauce for the pitas, it is absolutely healthy!
How to make Greek Pitas with Yogurt Dill Sauce:
The sauce needs to sit in the fridge for an hour, so prep that first.
Into a food processor, add greek yogurt, cucumber, dill, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt and pepper. Pulse until combined. Cover and refrigerate for an hour before serving.
For the chicken, follow my Sautéed Chicken Recipe for an easy stove top recipe or you can bake the chicken. Slice into thin strips or small cubes.
If baking, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Pat dry the chicken breast and season with Mediterranean seasoning and salt and pepper and bake on a baking sheet in the oven for 35 minutes. Make sure the chicken reads 165 degrees on an instant read thermometer or that the juices run clear with no pink inside. Remove from the oven and tent with foil for 5 minutes, then let chicken cool for 3-4 minutes. Slice up the chicken into thin strips.
Prepare all of the topping ingredients and place onto tray or board, so that everyone can build their own pitas.
Warm the pitas in oven for 3-4 minutes right before serving. *It’s important that they are warm and it helps them to not break apart when building.
Don't forget the yogurt dill sauce for serving! This is the best part!

Notes
Feel free to leave out the chicken if you are vegetarian. Prefer steak? Try marinating a flank steak, grilling and slicing in thin strips. That would be delicious too!
