garlic cheesy bread sliced into pieces on cutting board

This is the kind of garlic cheesy bread that will spoil your dinner and make all other food on your plate no longer appear appetizing. It is seriously that good and a must try recipe!

Garlic cheesy sliced into pieces on cutting board this recipe

Ingredients for Garlic Cheesy Bread:

  • Large loaf of french bread, cut in half lengthwise
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • ½ cup Pecorino Romana cheese (finely shredded)    *if you need to substitute, parmigiano-reggiano works here too and will be equally delicious*
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • ⅓  cup minced chives
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • dash of salt and pepper

How to make it:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Melt the butter in a small sauce pan on medium low heat and add the garlic for 30 seconds. Turn off and allow to cool for a few minutes.
  3. Add your mayo, warm butter and garlic, both cheeses, chives and a dash of salt and pepper to a bowl and stir around to create a giant sloppy mess of goodness.
  4. Spread onto the inside of the french bread.
  5. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes, then turn to broil and broil for 1 to 2 minutes *Watch it here during broiling..we just want to get the cheese bubbling..no burning. Don’t think you have enough time to get your kids a snack or make the coffee for the morning or you will be one sad little lady or man.
  6. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving if you have the will power.
  7. Enjoy the most delicious garlic cheesy bread you have ever eaten!
