These Oven Baked Ham and Swiss Cheese Croissants are so easy to prep in just minutes. Pop them in the oven and they'll come out with gooey melted cheese on a buttery baked croissant. An absolute must try recipe with minimal ingredients needed & ready in less than 15 minutes!
My husband is a big meat and potatoes kind of guy, while I could survive off soups and salads. Whenever I make soups or salads for dinner, like this Creamy Chicken Soup with Wild Rice or Arugula Pear Salad, I pair them up with these Ham and Swiss Croissants, so it's more filling for him.
They're so easy and make a great lunch year round too. In the Summer, pair them with this Cantaloupe Salad, Ancient Grain Salad or Grinder Salad.

Why You'll Love This Sandwich:
- Quick. These Croissants only take 5 minutes to prep.
- Easy. It doesn't get easier then prepping these simple sandwiches with a quick and easy dijon mayo spread. Plus, it only requires 5 ingredients and salt and pepper.
- So Much Flavor. Get ready for big savory flavors from the Croissant to the melted Swiss cheese and creamy sauce.

Ingredients:
Croissants: It all starts with flaky, buttery croissants. My croissants came from Target's bakery and got really flat, but were still so delicious. Grab your favorite croissants from the grocery store or local bakeries.
Ham: Deli ham that is sliced thin for sandwiches is best for this recipe because it heats up quick in the oven. I prefer Boar's Head Black forest Ham, but any flavor that pairs well with Swiss cheese will be great in this recipe. Try my Ham and Cheese Wraps too!
Swiss Cheese: Baby Swiss cheese is my favorite for its milder flavor and it melts well.
The Spread: Mayonnaise, Dijon Mustard and Salt and Pepper create the most delicious sauce that adds some serious flavor to these croissants. If you love this sauce, try my dijonnaise recipe too. It's great to whip up and stick in the fridge for sandwiches during the week.

Substitutions and Variations:
These Sandwiches are fantastic, even for breakfast. You can layer on a fried or scrambled egg.
For more toppings, add crisp lettuce, tomato, or thinly sliced red onion.
Not big on Swiss cheese? Try brie, provolone or cheddar cheese.
In the colder months, these hot ham croissants are fabulous with soups. Try this Dutch Oven Chicken Noodle Soup, Chicken Tikka Masala Soup and Pastina Soup.
How to Make Ham and Cheese Croissants:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Slice the croissants in half into a top and bottom portion. Spread the crossiants out on a cookie sheet leaving them opened up. Layer on 3 slices of ham onto the bottom half and cover with a slice of cheese. Cover the top half with another slice of cheese. Note: I rip each slice of cheese into two pieces, so it covers the sandwich better without melting off.
Step 2: In a small bowl, stir together the dijon mustard, mayonnaise and salt and pepper. Set aside.
Step 3: Bake for 7-10 minutes until the cheese is nice and melted.
Step 4: Spread about 1 tablespoon of sauce onto the top of each croissant over the cheese. Cover the top half over the bottom half.
Step 5: Slice in half if desired. Serve and enjoy!
Expert Tips:
- Don't add the sauce until after baking. It dries up in the oven.
- Keep an eye on the croissants while baking because they can burn quick.

Recipe FAQs:
I find the best way to store hot ham and cheese croissants is to wrap them in foil and store in the fridge for up to 2 days. Then, reheat in the oven right in the foil at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
Yes! Assemble, vacuum seal or wrap in plastic, then foil and freeze. Use within 2 months. To reheat, allow them to thaw, remove plastic, and pop in the oven wrapped in foil at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes until warm.

Thanks so much for the review and I'm crazy about the dijon mayo on sandwiches. It's good on breakfast bagel sandwiches too!
