Ingredients:
Ham: Cut from the deli into sandwich slices. I prefer Boar's Head Black Forest Ham for a good quality that isn't slimy.
Crescents: The original crescent rolls, not crescent dough, are used in this recipe, because they're pre-cut into triangles.
Garlic: Use fresh garlic and peel and mince. Make sure not to overcook the garlic in the butter because it will continue to roast in the oven on the tops of the rolls. Over cooking garlic can make it dark in color and bitter in flavor.

Substitutions and Variations:
- Not big on ham? Use turkey or roast beef.
- The cheese can be substituted with other deli cheeses, like provolone. I find deli cheese melts a little slower than shredded cheeses, like cheddar, which might just completely melt out of the rolls.
- I love the garlic parsley butter, but it can be substituted with just butter or sprinkle on everything bagel seasoning over the butter for a fun topping.

How to Make Ham and Cheese Crescent Rolls:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, dijon mustard, and salt and pepper and stir to combine. Set aside.
Step 2: Melt the butter in a skillet over low heat. Toss in the garlic and sauté for about 60-90 seconds. Transfer into a bowl. Note: Don't toast the garlic too much because it will continue to brown in the oven on top of the rolls.
Step 3: Stir the parsley into the garlic butter mixture.
Step 4: Assembly: (1) Prepare a cookie sheet and open the can of crescent rolls. Separate them into 8 pieces, by tearing at the perforations, and place them onto the cookie sheet. (2) Spread a few teaspoons of dijon mayo mixture onto each of the wider portions of the triangle dough. (3) Roll up a slice of ham and lay it over the dijon spread. Then, roll the cheese slice up and lay over the ham. (4) Starting from the large portion of the crescent with ham and cheese, grab under the crescent and roll it over and over once more, creating a tightly rolled dough stuffed with ham, cheese and sauce.
Step 4: Arrange the ham and cheese crescents on the cookie sheet, so they're not touching, and face them with the cheese on top of the ham.
Step 5: Brush the garlic parsley butter over the top of each roll. Bake for 12-13 minutes.
Step 6: Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Step 7: Serve with the remaining dijon mustard and mayo spread for dipping or spreading and enjoy!
Expert Tips 🧑🍳:
- Use deli cheese instead of shredded cheese because it melts slower and won't all leak out of the rolls.
- Don't overcook the garlic in the butter, because it will continue to cook in the oven. If it looks a bit overcooked already, brush it on quickly halfway through baking so it doesn't burn and get bitter.
- Only cook the rolls for 13 minutes max.

Recipe FAQs:
It's a bit tricky to keep the cheese in, but make sure to use deli cheese, not shredded cheese. Deli cheese will melt a bit slower. Also, place the cookie sheet towards the middle of the oven so it's not too close to the top burner. A bit of mine melted out too, but there was still a lot left inside.
To store, allow the crescents to come to room temperature, then store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, wrap in tin foil and place on a cookie sheet, then heat in a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes, or until hot throughout.
