These Asian Pork Dumplings are a no fold, also known as the blanket method, that requires no assembly! The recipe cooks all in one skillet for an easy weeknight dinner ready in just 30 minutes.
If you're like me, you love dumplings, but hate making them. It takes forever to fold them one by one, but now we have a solution!
In this recipe, we cook the filling separately, then blanket the wonton over the top and steam it. The results are same taste with little effort!

Ingredients:

Sauce: This Japanese Dipping Sauce by Bachan's is Spicy Sesame and it's so delish. It's like a spicy version of peanut sauce.
Wonton Wraps: These are really easy to use and can be found near the tofu and egg roll wrappers in most grocery stores. With the leftover wrappers, try these Wonton Taco Cups or Buffalo Chicken Wontons.

Substitutions and Variations:
- The ground pork can easily be substituted with ground beef. Ground turkey or chicken can also be used, but it tends to not hold it's shape as well in the pan and is a bit more watery.
- For sauce options, this peanut sauce is delish, but you can also use teriyaki sauce or chili oil.

How to Make No Fold Asian Pork Dumplings:

Step 1: (1) Into a large bowl, add in ground pork, salt, pepper, egg, grated ginger and garlic. Stir or use your hands to combine ingredients. (2) Use a 2 tablespoon cookie scooper or your hands to roll each filling ball (it should make about 14-16) Note: I like to pack these a bit like a meatball, so they hold together well in the pan. (3) In a skillet on the stovetop over medium heat, add in the olive oil, then each meatball. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes until browned, then flip, cover and cook until the internal temperature reaches about 155 degrees (about 4-6 minutes).

Step 2: Reduce the heat to medium low and allow to cool a bit. Add a wonton wrapper over the top of each filling ball. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes. Increase the stovetop heat to medium. Pour in water and cover for 4-5 minutes until the dumpling wrappers are steamed and softened (almost like a noodle texture). Check that the pork filling is at least 165 degrees internally. If it's not, cover and cook for a few more minutes.

Step 3: Top the skillet with sauce, green onions, and sesame seeds. Serve and enjoy!
Expert Tips:
- Try to roll the meatballs in similar size, so they cook in about the same time.
- Before adding the wonton wrapper, reduce the stovetop heat, so the oil doesn't splatter at your hands.
- When placing the dumpling wrapper, try to really place it around the filling so that it stays well.
- Serve these pork dumplings with rice or a Spicy Cucumber Salad.
- I recommend using a non-stick skillet with lid.

- ½ cup water
- 2 tablespoons Bachan's Japanese Sauce "Spicy Sesame" or Teriyaki Sauce or Chili Oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon sliced green onion or chives
