Ingredients:
Lime Juice: Lime juice and zest are the star of this recipe. I highly recommend fresh lime juice for this recipe. Don't use the bottled stuff, as it doesn't taste as good.
Mayonnaise: The creamy base that makes aioli thick and rich. I suggest Hellmann's mayonnaise for this recipe, but you can choose your favorite brand.
Avocado: Used to bring in more green color and adds a nice, thick texture along with the mayo.
Cilantro: Adds a fresh taste and pairs really well with citrus.
Jalapeño and Fresh Garlic: Brought into the mix for spice.
Seasoning: Salt, cumin and chili powder bring in a depth of flavors.
See the recipe card below for the full list of ingredients and quantities.
Substitutions and Variations:
If you can't tolerate cilantro, leave it out.
Want the aioli more spicy? Double up the jalapeño or add in more seeds. I like using more jalapeño versus adding hot sauce to keep the color really green.
Do not use imitation lime juice for this recipe. Fresh is best!
A blender can be used in place of the food processor if you don't have one.
How to Make Lime Aioli Sauce:
Step 1: Add all of the ingredients into the food processor.
Step 2: Start the food processor on low and slowly work up to high speed. Stop the machine and scrape down the sides, then pulse a few more times to make sure everything is smooth and pureed.
Step 3: Pour the aioli into a container and store in the fridge or enjoy right away. Serve on tacos, nachos, sandwiches and more.
Expert Tips:
- If you're sensitive to spice, be sure to remove the seeds and membranes of the jalapeño.
- If the mixture is having a hard time blending, add in 1 tablespoon of water to make it easier to mix.

Recipe FAQs:
Aioli is a lot like mayonnaise, but usually involves more complex flavors from different ingredients. This Lime Aioli uses mayonnaise in combination with cilantro, lime, garlic and more.
Store the aioli in a sealed jar with a wide opening for easy access or any container with lid.
I suggest using this lime aioli sauce within 3-4 days for the freshest taste. If it starts to look really watery, toss it and make a new batch.
