DIY Pizza Lunchables are so easy to make and my kids love the homemade version even more than the store-bought Lunchables. Add the kid's favorite toppings to a bento box and they can make their own pizzas for a really fun lunch experience.
These make your own lunchables work great for school, camp or just for a simple lunch at home that they can grab from the fridge and eat independently.
My kids have loved making them this Summer and it puts a lot less stress on me, when they already have lunch planned and ready in the fridge. Plus, both of my kids prefer turkey pepperoni over regular pepperoni, and it's easy to make that modification.

Why You Should Make Your Own Lunchables:
- Cheaper. It's way less money to make them at home and you can even freeze the naan bread to keep it from going bad.
- Super Quick and Easy. It takes about 2 minutes to shred cheese and organize ingredients into the bento boxes. Plus, only 4 ingredients!
- Healthier. Keep the chemicals from those processed ingredients from store-bought lunchables out of the kids lunches with these almost homemade lunchables.
- Customizable. If your kids are picky, you can customize the lunchables with their favorite toppings and ingredients.

Ingredients:
Naan Dippers: I use Stonefire Mini Naan Dippers for this recipe because they're fresh, delicious, and the perfect size for these easy mini pizzas.
Pizza Sauce: A jarred pizza sauce is cheap and easy. Plus, it goes a long way and a jar costs around $2.
Mozzarella Cheese: A classic pizza topping. I like to shred my own in the morning the day of eating for the best taste.
Pepperoni: A must have in pizza lunchables. Use regular or turkey pepperoni. You can even use deli pepperoni and just cut it into smaller pieces.
See the recipe card below for the full list of ingredients and quantities.
Substitutions & Pizza Topping Ideas:
Add fun toppings like banana peppers or pineapple to the bento boxes!
My kids like turkey pepperoni, so we use those instead of regular pepperoni.
Some of the pizza lunchables have a bit of cheddar cheese too. You could always add that in. If you are short on time or don't want to dirty dishes, the bagged cheese is fine. I do like to shred my own just to avoid the anti-caking agents they use. Plus, I think shredded cheese from the block always tastes better.
My oldest daughter loves feta cheese on her pizza. You could try that too.

How to Make Your Own DIY Pizza Lunchables:
Step 1: Place 5 Naan dippers into the largest part of the box. Shred the fresh mozzarella cheese and pack into a large portion of the bento box. Spoon the marinara sauce in another large section, then add the pepperoni or other toppings to the smaller section.
Step 2: Pack in the kid's lunch boxes and don't forget to pack a spoon for the sauce and napkins. That's it! I like to add an ice pack too to keep everything cold and fresh.
Expert Tips for Pizza Lunchables:
- Make sure the bento box is completely dry after washing and before adding the ingredients. The bento boxes love to carry little beads of water in the corners and it will make the naan bread soggy.
- Shred the cheese in the morning for the best taste. Cheese loves to get hard and crusty in the fridge if not sealed properly.
- Make sure to place the marinara sauce into a portion of the bento box that isn't too small to work from and pack a spoon so it's easy for the kiddos to make their own pizzas.
- Don't forget the napkin! Kids love to make a hot mess with the marinara sauce.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Pizza lunchables include the dough or crust, with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and sometimes pepperoni. If you buy the larger one, it comes with a candy bar and capri sun. It's easy to replicate, but to make it healthier without the kids even knowing.
Yes, especially if you make multiples with the ingredients or have several kids to pack lunches for.
I find it best to prep them in the morning of eating so everything stays fresh. However, as long as the bento box seals well, packing them the night before should be totally fine. Then, store them in the fridge.
