Ingredients:
Crescents: Make sure to buy Crescent Rolls versus dough for this recipe, so they are already cut into triangles. It makes things a lot easier.
Mozzarella Cheese: The mozzarella can be purchased as an 8 ounce block, or you can buy mozzarella cheese sticks and just cut or tear them in half. I find the cheese melts later in baking with the stick version versus using shredded cheese. The stick keeps more in the actual pizza roll and off the cookie sheet. If you have leftover cheese, try this recipe for Fried Mozzarella Cheese Balls too!
Parmesan Cheese: I strictly buy Parmigiano Reggiano for it's superior nutty taste. If you don't want to spend that much, it's fine, but make sure to grate the cheese fine from a block for the best melt. Bagged cheese isn't going to melt well because of the anti-caking agents added.

Feel free to use Turkey Pepperoni instead of Pork or Beef Pepperoni.
The Pizza Sauce can be pizza sauce from a jar or use Marinara or any pasta sauce. For a homemade version, check out my San Marzano Marinara.

How to Make Pizza Rolls from Crescent Rolls:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium low heat. Once melted, add the garlic and cook for 30-60 seconds. Pour the garlic butter into a bowl to stop cooking process. Note: The garlic should only be cooked briefly because it will brown more in the oven.
Step 2: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Open and unroll the crescent roll package. Tear at perforations to create 8 triangular rolls and spread out onto the cookie sheet.
Step 3: If using 4 cheese sticks, slice each stick in half to create 8 (3 inch long) pieces, or use a mozzarella cheese block and cut into similar 3 inch long by 1 inch wide pieces. Note: If you're feeding these to younger kids, I highly recommend slicing the width in half or into ¼ to avoid any choking hazards.
Step 4: Lay 3 slices of pepperoni on top of each crescent roll and cover with a mozzarella stick. Roll the crescents up into a croissant like shape.
Step 5: Tuck the outside edges over the top to cover the cheese and pepperoni. This helps the cheese from leaking out.
Step 6: Spread the pizza rolls out onto the cookie sheet, so they aren't touching. Brush with the garlic butter mixture. Next, sprinkle with basil and oregano blend and cover with parmesan cheese. Bake in the middle rack of the oven for 10-12 minutes. Note: If the insides aren't quite done, but the tops are getting toasty, tent with a piece of foil and/or lower the cookie sheet to the bottom rack of the oven. Note: It's normal for some of the cheese to bake out. It happened to a few of mine and they were will still really cheesy.

Step 7: Warm the marinara sauce up on the stovetop while the pizza rolls are baking. Serve, dip and enjoy!
Expert Tips:
- Shred the parmesan cheese yourself on the fine setting of the grater.
- Use a cheese stick or cut cheese into cheese stick for the best results.
- Only cook the garlic briefly in the butter, about 30-60 seconds, because it will continue to cook in the oven and will get bitter if burnt.
- Make sure to tuck the ends of the crescent rolls in to save more of the cheese from leaking out.
- For less mess, use parchment paper on the cookie sheet.

Recipe FAQs:
Store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, place back on a cookie sheet and place in a 350 degree oven until hot, approximately 7-8 minutes. To avoid drying out or overcooking, you can wrap them in foil before adding to the cookie sheet.
Yes! It's the perfect recipe for kids. If you're feeding it to younger kids, please make sure to cut them up really small into pieces or use a really thin piece of string cheese (width cut into ¼). They are really cheesy inside and it could be a choking hazard, especially if the cheese cools a bit before eating.
