Ingredients:
Slaw: Look for a vegetable slaw that features broccoli or just a package labeled "broccoli slaw". This is different than coleslaw.
Sesame Sticks: Any version of these will taste yummy in this salad. The ones I used were just plain oat bran. If you could find a honey roasted version, that would be amazing too!
Piquante Peppers: I use the Peppadew Brand, which have a nice crunch with a sweet and spicy taste. Some stores have them, or you can purchase on Amazon.
Bacon: I recommend a regular cut, not thick cut bacon in a traditional or original flavor.
See recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.
Substitutions and Variations:
- If you're vegetarian, feel free to leave out the bacon.
- Don't like honey mustard? You can use a traditional coleslaw sauce, like this pulled pork coleslaw recipe dressing. I suggest doubling it for this salad.
- Can't find vegetable or broccoli slaw? Traditional coleslaw can be used, without the sauce packet if it came with one.
- Depending on where you shop, the piquante peppers can be difficult to find. The ones I buy are called peppadew piquante peppers and are near the olives and sundried tomatoes in the grocery store or the link above will take you to amazon. There isn't a great substitution option if you can't find them, but they can be left out. Double the cranberries if you skip the peppers.
- For a time saver, you can use bacon bits, but the fresh pan fried bacon tastes much better.

How to Make Broccoli Crunch Salad:
Step 1: Slice the bacon into 1 inch pieces and fry in a pan on the stovetop over medium heat until nice and crispy. Remove to a paper towel lined plate once finished.
Step 2: As the bacon cooks, prepare the honey mustard dressing. Into a pyrex dish or bowl, add in the mayonnaise, honey, dijon mustard, olive oil and salt and pepper and stir or whisk to combine.
Step 3: In a large serving bowl, add in the slaw and broccoli for the base. Top with sesame sticks, cranberries, bacon, and piquante peppers. Pour the honey mustard over the top of the salad.
Step 4: Toss to combine, then serve and enjoy!
Expert Tips:
- Chop the broccoli small enough to where it requires minimal cutting, if any, when eating. I like it in bite sized pieces.
- If meal prepping for the week or serving for later in the day, save the dressing and sesame sticks to add right before serving.
