Ingredients:
Hot Cocoa Mix: Chocolate with the sugar already added and perfect for this dip. I used the Starbucks Double Chocolate variation, which comes in a tin can. It was super yummy and had a few little mini chocolate chips in it.
Cream Cheese: Brings thickness and a slight tangy flavor to the dip. Make sure it is softened to room temperature or it will create lumps.
Cool Whip: Turns the dip from dense to light and fluffy. It's 100% necessary for the perfect texture. The cool whip should be thawed before starting the recipe.
Marshmallow Fluff: Adds sticky marshmallow goodness to the dip. It's sweet and delish.
Mini Marshmallows: Not completely necessary, but I like the appearance because it makes people think it looks more like hot cocoa dip, versus just chocolate dip or pudding.
Dipping Tools: My oldest daughter was eating this like pudding, but I don't think I'd recommend that for a party 😂 I like honey teddy grahams and graham crackers the most because it's not too sweet of a combo, but Milano cookies or Oreos are nice for options too.
See recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.
Substitutions and Variations:
Any type of hot cocoa mix can be used for this recipe. If you use the packets, just measure them out in tablespoons. It should be roughly 3 packets.
The marshmallow fluff brand is up to you. I used the one that says Marshmallow Fluff, but Jet Puffed makes a Marshmallow Creme version too.
Add any of your favorite hot cocoa toppings to the top! Mini m&ms, sprinkles, chocolate chips, or peppermint shavings are all amazing.

How to Make Hot Cocoa Dip (Step by Step Instructions):
Step 1: Add the cream cheese to the stand mixer bowl with beater attachment (or use large bowl and hand mixer). Beat for 1 minute on medium speed, scraping down the sides of the bowl half way through.
Step 2: Add in hot cocoa mix powder, marshmallow fluff and 1 cup of cool whip. Beat on low speed for 1 minute, scrape down sides of bowl, and beat on medium low speed for 30 seconds or until combined well. Remove the bowl from the stand mixer.
Step 3: Use a frosting spatula or wooden spoon to fold in the remaining cool whip. Try to avoid stirring to keep the fluffy texture. Once fully combined, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours.
